Ars longa vita brevis est.
Hippocrates

My passion for art started developing at a tender age of four, when I used a ballpoint pen to carve flowers and nymphs into my parents' oak living room furniture.

Soon I moved on to watercolors and gouache. Sadly, my best work of that period has perished, mercilessly washed off the kitchen walls by my irritated mother.

As I matured, I abandoned the notion of the world as my canvas, and confined myself to the actual canvas with oils as my favorite medium. Although my works include portraits, landscapes and still life, my favorite subjects are the fleeting images one gets a glimpse of while falling asleep. These images are not yet dreams, therefore not yet surrealism; however they already departed from reality far enough to make it difficult to explain or name them.

I believe that paintings speak to us because of their emotional context rather than their plot. I prefer the painting knives to brushes, because the palette knives allow for a greater expressiveness of strokes and textures, thus creating a mood on canvas along with a story
